Before you begin create a paint-over for each image.

Welcome to Class

Lighting:

It takes time.

I went to the Industry Giants event in Dallas last weekend and listened to Chris Fowler give a talk http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1093680/ about lighting he was responsible for lookdev of Andy.



How long did it take to nail down lighitng in this shot?        3 months,  an entire quarter.

Then they distributed his lights to all shots with Andy in them to keep a consistent look.


Shading:

avoid UVing when you can.

use shaders to do things you might not think of.

Assignment #1

The best lighters are photographers.

Check out a camera (Cannon Power Shot, card reader, card, cable) from the cage, for next class bring in 30 pictures and put in a slideshow your favorite 8 images to show to the class.  Use bounce cards and lamps around to help light your subjects, be able to explain what you did to make you images look better than it would have because you moved/lamp/bounce card/etc.
